Cinema Info

At Picturedrome Cinemas we pride ourselves on giving our customers a unique environment to see films and events using state of the art technology. We provide an excellent, friendly service and ensure the experience is value for money.

It is the policy of Picturedrome Cinemas that the pricing of tickets is kept as low as possible to make it accessible for our patrons. In addition our food and drinks have been reasonably priced too.

Therefore, we ask that you do not bring food and drinks purchased from outside sources. If you do so we will ask you to leave it behind the counter until the end of the film.

Our alcohol sales are restricted to certain films depending on the certificate, content, and time of day. Ask our staff which of our current films you can enjoy an alcoholic drink in.

We appreciate that at some points the cinema is extremely busy. We have designed a queuing system to help ease congestion. We ask our customers to be patient and listen to the staff instructions. If you have booked your tickets in advance, please have your booking reference or QR code ready to enable us to find your booking as quickly as possible. If you have booked tickets, you will still need to join the queue to collect them.

Carlton Westgate boasts three digital cinema screens with Dolby Digital surround sound all located on the ground floor:

Screen 1 297

Screen 2 54

Screen 3 32

Screens 1 and 2 have limited wheelchair spaces. Please contact the cinema if you require booking those seats.

Located conveniently a short 3 minute walk away from Westgate on Sea Railway Station. There is a regular bus service that stops outside the cinema; a number 8 or 8A bus from Canterbury, Broadstairs and Margate.

Built in 1910 The Carlton was originally the Town Hall in Westgate On Sea

We also hire screens for private parties, private film viewings and gaming events! Please enquire at the Box Office for more details or email westgate@picturedromecinemas.co.uk

Tickets are £3.50 all week. Lounge seats, available in Screen 1, have a £1 extra charge.

We also charge a booking fee of 50p per ticket for tickets purchased online and over the phone.

Tickets for live shows and other event cinema performances may have a different price.

For 15 and 18 films we run a strict age restriction policy. You must be prepared to present ID if you look under 18 for a 15 film and 21 for a 18 film and alcohol sales. We accept passports, driving license and 'pass' logo card as ID. For 15 films we will also accept a birth certificate if presented with another form of Photo ID and will also accept a 6th form, college or university cards. Parental consent or accompaniment is not a valid form of identification. Alcohol sales are strictly for over 18's. The same ID policy as 18 films is enforced.

We also accept CitizenCard and ValidateUK cards, both of them part of the PASS scheme cards

If you have any questions then please ask at the box office.

We do operate an allocated seating system. We ask you to seat on your allocated seatings as otherwise you may be occupying someone else's seats. However, tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis. Whilst we may do our best to seat large groups together it is advisable to book in advance.

We do recommend to book in advance for half terms and school holidays, as our screens tend to fill extremely fast.

We accept CEA cards. A valid card must be presented at the time of the booking or when collecting tickets. Although you cannot book CEA tickets online you can do so over the phone, but please let us know that you wish to use a CEA card. More information on the scheme can be found here

We do not operate other concessions on main films, although some concessions are available for Event Cinema and other alternative content.

Under 2s will be admitted free of charge but a ticket must be issued and can be obtained from the box office of the cinema.

A limited supply of booster seats are available.

Doors for a show open around 20 minutes before the show depending on when the previous show finishes and the amount of cleaning required. Therefore we ask you that, where possible, you take your rubbish with you at the end of the film.

Ask at our box office for more info on when a particular show opens.

The cinema will open the doors approximately 15 minutes before the first show of the day.

If a show sells out completely in advance we will try to notify the customers via social media. On busy periods this may be impossible. We always recommend booking in advance.

The minimum value is £2.50 and the card comes in a stylish gift card and envelope.
